The constraints of melodrama can be a great blessing, because they demand that all the characters involved – as absurd and extreme as they may initially seem – must stay utterly rooted in their own reality, or the whole project collapses.
Disney became hated. It became one of the evil corporations. It used to be loved. They couldn’t hold onto talent; they couldn’t attract talent. Some of their products did badly. The Californialand project was a $5 billion waste of money. They couldn’t make it work. The magic had gone, no pun intended.
We ourselves are co-called non-linear dynamical systems… I don’t feel quite so pathetic when I interrupt a project to check on some obscure web site or newsgroup or derive an iota of cheer by getting rid of pocketful of change.
When Chuck House wanted to develop the oscilloscope for HP, David Packard told him to abandon the project. Chuck went on “vacation” and came back with $2 million in orders. To write a novel is to embark on a quest that is very romantic. People have visions, and the next step is to execute them. That’s a very romantic project. Like Edvard Munch’s strange dreamlike canvases where people are stylized, like ‘The Scream.’ Munch must have had that vision in a dream, he never saw it.
Ask a kid who’s struggling in math if he likes being in a mixed-level class, and he’ll tell you he feels like a moron. Ask the math genius if he likes being in a mixed-level class, and he’ll tell you he’s sick of doing all the work during group projects. Sometimes, it’s better to sort like with like.

‘Adult Swim’ on the Cartoon Network is unbelievable. And ‘South Park’ continues to do great stuff. And ‘Family Guy’ and the various other Seth MacFarlane projects are amazing.

I find that the projects I enjoy signing up to at the moment are with a director who’s interested in the script – isn’t completely sure what the movie is and isn’t concerned about it. He’s just interested in going on the journey and discovering it.
We have 24 states where Republicans run both of them. But in terms of a liberal project that people feel they can sign on to, that feels that it speaks to everyone in the country, that speaks to what we share and the principles we hold, Republicans have developed a message for all of that, you know?
There’s something to be said for failing. It’s not the failure you feel, it’s the failure that people project when something disappoints. You’re back to ground zero, where there’s no expectations, and that’s where I like to be.
Amid a multitude of projects, no plan is devised.
As an actor, you generally don’t get to choose what projects you are part of, so I’ve been very fortunate that The Book of Mormon was something I got to be part of. I don’t want to be lofty, but it was groundbreaking, in many ways, for musical theater, so that was really thrilling to be part of.
What can possibly be the common factor in a Kim Jee-woon film? I think what really ties a lot of my projects together is that there is always a character that believes his life is not exactly the way he wishes it to be.
Music does have a very special place in my heart. I enjoy it very much. I suppose it is my first love and I do a lot of it. It seems to be when you are making a project it inspires you sometimes to jot down something that you think fits the situation.
What makes the meaning of life is people, so you try to be good to people immediately around you and in your broader community. So a lot of my projects are about how I can affect the world in the hundreds of millions.

Ever since I left Greece more than two decades ago, it has been my dream to return and perform at the Acropolis. This project took more than a year and a half to plan and accomplish, and I would like to thank my band and crew and the scores of people involved in helping my dream become a reality.

As a writer who has collaborated on projects, you give your life over to that project.

I’m always sort of looking for projects that I can sort of put out into the world, into the public sphere, and to somehow cause an effect. I want to be able to create projects that sort of are going to make people think and think in this sort of magical, sort of fantastical way.
Anyone who writes knows that ultimately the majority of your time is spent alone in a room with a piano or a guitar, no matter what the project is.
I’d already started directing short films when we were doing ‘Lord of the Rings,’ then videogame projects. So Peter’s known that I’ve been heading towards directing for a long time. But I always thought my first outing would be a couple of people and a digital camera in the back streets of London somewhere!
China does not play by the rules; they do not respect the rules. They develop projects that are not feasible, leaving countries with huge debt that cannot be paid back and use that as financial leverage.

Do you want to be an actor, or do you want to be a celebrity? I made that decision when I went to Juilliard. I wanted to be an actor. So, if I get the opportunity to be an actor and do some cool, fun and interesting projects, I’m going to do that.

I knew there were all kinds of interesting things going on at Google, but now that I’ve seen them, my mind has been blown – in a great way. They have all these amazing projects and people that the world doesn’t know anything about. I’m like a kid in a candy store – it’s an idea factory.
I’m involved with projects that strike up a passion with me, that stir up completion inside of me. People come at me and go, ‘My job makes me feel alive.’ OK, well, good for you. My job doesn’t make me feel ‘alive,’ my job makes me feel alive!
Every new thing you make will be (should be) the nicest thing you’ve made so far, because you’re learning and getting better with each and every new project.
A model needs to know how to project herself into the camera.
I’m a Sufi Muslim, I would say. I believe in using the medium to create a good vibration because art is so important to society. Some projects I don’t do because I feel that it’s going to create a bad vibe. I don’t do propaganda films that are anti another religion, anti-Muslim or anti-Hindu.
No doubt we have to have bigger projects, bigger industries, basic industries, but it is a matter of the highest importance that we look to the common man, the weakest element in the society.
My favorite project is always the next one.

Normally, in anything I do, I’m fairly miserable. I do it, and I get grumpy because there is a huge, vast gulf, this aching disparity, between the platonic ideal of the project that was living in my head, and the small, sad, wizened, shaking, squeaking thing that I actually produce.
Working on new projects gives you the opportunity to learn and absorb new things.
I don’t take on projects that are a hassle or when someone comes in and says, ‘We really need this design,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, fine, I’ll do it.’ It really has to be something that I personally feel intrigued and excited about – any product, as long as I’m excited by it. It doesn’t have to be a car.
See your enemies, not as God’s failures, but as God’s projects.
The people I’m working with tend to be people I know, who are my friends, and I like hanging out with them. There’s nothing better than making a long-term project with your friends. It’s just dreamy.

I’m not saying Sonic Youth was a conceptual-art project for me, but in a way it was an extension of Warhol. Instead of making criticism about popular culture, as a lot of artists do, I worked within it to do something.
Often we’re recreating what we think we’re supposed to be as human beings. What we’ve been told we’re supposed to be, instead of who we authentically are. The key about the creation of full self-expression is to be authentically who you are, to project that.
Cisco projects that in 2020, now just five years away, there will be seven billion people on the earth and 50 billion devices connected to the Internet. Six-and-a-half devices on average per person. Where the despair of loneliness and poverty haunts every hour, the optimism to embark on new projects cannot find a place to alight on the brain’s cortex. Poverty itself is an enormous obstacle to an enlightened and enlightening – not to say healthy – old age.
Half-way through any big project, everyone forgets what they’re doing.
I think I’m better wired for television. I love variety as far as a project. I’m easily bored and the schedule of a television show, it just keeps you going.

I won’t quit my day job. I like restaurants. I don’t do a lot of television, either, even though people come to me with projects all the time. I have to spend time in the kitchen.
George W. Bush is a person who is totally disinterested in the world, uneducated. I’m not saying he’s stupid. I don’t think he’s stupid. He’s crafty as hell, but he projects well on television. And that’s the real big problem. He is the perfect “what, me worry?” president.
In matters of the heart as well, a certain level of negativity and suspicion is universally recommended. You may try to project a thoroughly positive outlook in order to attract a potential boyfriend, but you are also advised to Google him.

I like to do projects that are off-the-wall and on top-of-the-wall.
My dad’s nickname was MacGyver when we were kids. He’d hijack my projects all the time. When I got older, he would not do it as much… but he would just end up hijacking the whole thing. You should see the look in his eyes when he gets to create stuff.
Major differences in projects happen due to budget, director’s styles, and genre of script, not industry.
The Way is not a religion: Christianity is the end of religion. ‘Religion’ means here the division between sacred and secular concerns, other-worldliness, man’s reaching toward God in a way which projects his own thoughts.
I am hands-on in any project that I am associated with. I just don’t want to put my face or name and lend it to a product that I’m not behind a hundred percent.
I’m just thinking of 2001, which I think is the most expensive independent film ever made – which is great, someday I hope I will do one. But I know the parameters when I got onto this project – I have to take care of everyone, make sure that they are all on board, and this process interests me.
Every time you work on a project, it’s a little vacation from the project you’re working on the other 23 hours. That’s the thing – it replenishes you to do something else.
Our goal is to leverage what is already out in the field in terms of partners, but then hire in project management capability and a bit of technical capability.
My husband has no desire to work with me; don’t get it twisted. He gets paid a lot of money to write giant movies. He’s not into humoring me with my projects. But, that being said, I did have the story credit on ‘Blades of Glory,’ and writing is something that I’ve always been interested in pursuing more.
I’m especially interested in projects from authors who were always wonderful writers but who got stuck in the midlist mire due to the challenges of traditional publishing.
It seems that soccer tournaments create those relationships: people gathered together in pubs and living rooms, a whole country suddenly caring about the same event. A World Cup is the sort of common project that otherwise barely exists in modern societies.
I begin by imagining an artwork verbally. I try to describe in writing what the project is, what it is trying to do. I need to understand the artwork without giving it a specific materiality or solid form.
The founders of a new colony, whatever Utopia of human virtue and happiness they might originally project, have invariably recognized it among their earliest practical necessities to allot a portion of the virgin soil as a cemetery, and another portion as the site of a prison.

Haji Ali taught me to share three cups of tea, to slow down and make building relationships as important as building projects. He taught me that I had more to learn from the people I work with than I could ever hope to teach them.
There’s some downsides to being famous, which are not even worth mentioning. But to combat the bad sides of being famous, you really should take advantage of the good sides. The good sides are, you can use that fame to get projects you might not normally get.

Just enough sense to stick with something-a chore, task, project, until its completed pays off much better than idle intelligence, even if idle intelligence be of genius caliber.

I’ve got my foot in ‘Saturday Night Live,’ and my heart is there in a lot of ways, but I’m really pushing myself to do these new projects. It’s scary as hell, but it’s fun to have other things to keep my creative brain cooking.

I want to pick good projects, I want to work with great directors and try not to put too much pressure on myself and just read things for the story and recognize when I’m drawn to something for the right reasons and try to maintain some sanity. Sanity would be good. I’d like to have a little sanity!
At our company, our Design and Construction Consulting Service Team not only helps eliminate the risks inherent in the construction process, they typically save our clients 5% – 10% on overall construction costs. They also help make sure projects come in on time.
I love the fans of genre. Genre fans are the best fans. They’re loyal, they’re dedicated, and they’re passionate about the projects. They get it on a cerebral level. Being a part of that culture and that world… It’s very gratifying and very fulfilling.
I was never really cut out to be a student, I prefer to actually work and get a project done and learn that way- but I have a huge respect for good teachers and even enjoy teaching…I am a conundrum!

If you look close, you can see the bricks chipped off.
Sometimes niggas miss when they lick off.
I really want to do something in Europe. With a small movie, it can be an interesting challenge. But I have to get the right project. I don’t think it’s so important to go to Hollywood. All that trash that comes out of there! I don’t want to do that.
I love all the old pictures – of spanking and Bettie Page and corsets. But you can’t do spanking in fashion, so I wanted to do a project where I could really let go and get girls who also love those things.
Generally, I like people’s trunk projects, the things they were working on before anyone knew who they were. I think when people run out of their trunk items and they start doing stuff just to do a film next year, the quality goes down, the interest goes down. Maybe it feels commercial or something.
I enjoy being given a certain amount of freedom in order to interpret or to come up with stuff, but I do enjoy collaboration. I seek and thrive on projects where I am going to learn from the people I’m working with.
My ultimate life dream project is my kids. My family.

The problem with being a writer/director: unless you’re really disciplined, you start adding projects, and you have to make time to make them. Because you have to write them… no one else is writing them for me.
I have to say that I approach every project with the same energy. I also think that, since I started producing, I see the process from a different perspective, which affects the way I jump on board immediately.

Sponsors, corporate endowments, and the heritage of the big fortunes would take care of financing cultural projects when American society was homogeneous. Now it’s too complex, it’s a mix. Different cultures in collision. I think it starts to be necessary to have a government institution to deal with cultural affairs.
The ontological concept of truth is in the centre of a logic which may serve as a model of pre- technological rationality. It is the rationality of a two-dimensional universe of discourse which, contrasts with the of thought and behavior that develop in the execution of the technological project.
We have good joint projects in the helicopter and aircraft manufacturing industry. We are considering cooperation and are actively cooperating in space. There are good prospects there [with China].
When I`m going to do a Christmas album I had to put my mind in Christmas mode. I had to go back to being a child and remembering all of that. When I go to do a project, I’m serious about it, so I wrap my world around it, and it becomes Christmastime for me and I’m singing songs like it’s Christmas day.
I need to find those projects more often: the ones that really, really speak to me. I do better work in those situations and have a better time.
My favourite book as a child was an old ‘Newne’s Children’s Encyclopaedia’ which my grandfather had bought just before World War II and donated to our family after seeing how interested we were in it. Each volume had special chapters called ‘Things Boys can Do.’ My brothers and I would pick out interesting projects.
The structure of the company is constantly changing. The composition of the necessary working groups is constantly changing. We have many divisions that are based on the project principle, which means that they are put together for each project.
The sin we commit against each other as women is lack of support. We hurt. We hurt each other. We hide. We project. We become mute or duplicitous, and we fester like boiling water until one day we erupt like a geyser. Do we forget we unravel in grief?
As audiences, when we are exposed to oral history projects not only do we learn but in some ways we also bear witness to that which we have not experienced personally.
The aim of art is to project an inner vision into the world.
I’d been doing projects outdoors for the public. I made pigeons eat geometry by putting bread out in rhomboids and triangles. I don’t know if this activity made sense, but the work was available.
I’ll be totally honest in that I feel tremendously lucky that I am offered incredible jobs all the time to direct, but the problem that I have just personally is that there are only so many years in my life to dedicate to certain projects.
I’m certainly grateful that there were projects that I did that people responded to. It would be a nightmare if it were the other way around. But it’s sometimes a little disheartening.
I realized that people don’t quite understand what I do when I was the new kid on the block and a lot of Hollywood was offering me fairly cheesy projects.
Every time I’ve gotten myself into trouble, it’s because I’m choosing a project based on a long-term career goal as opposed to something that speaks to me at the moment.
I need to thank my director, producers, and artists as well crew members of all my projects.
If something – if you have a good rapport then you’re friends and you’re offered projects together or you discover stories together. Jennifer and I discovered this story together, and it was evident to us we would only do it with each other.
I’ve been compiling a list of art project ideas for a long time. These are ideas of things I would love to see someday. They range from the practical – jackets with woodstoves in them – to the sublime – images of nuns on waterslides.
I believe in preparation. As you already know we had to deal with many crews, 2 cameras. Also as I said we had to get many different actors because they tried to tamper with the project. I just liked doing the movie how I envisioned it. I wanted it to be my own.
My childlike qualities sometimes lead me to jump into projects without thinking of the consequences.
I think the only consistent thing is that I like projects that explore different social themes. ‘Our Family Wedding’ is a comedy, but it deals with two different cultures coming together. It’s also about people letting go.
With a project like ‘Teachers Lounge,’ you’re wearing a lot of hats, so it demands hard work and focus if you want to do it right.
There is one recurring, persistent, perennial, and dogging personal problem which, more than any other, steals the force and peace of people and ruins projects and enterprises and careers.В It is the habit of feeling hurt, because of what others do, or do not do and what they say or do not say
All our projects are like fabulous expeditions. The story of each project is unique. Our projects have no precedent.
At this time, my work on the SPS power supplies had just come to an end; I joined a study group on the pp project and an experimental team studying cooling in a small ring (ICE).
Something that I really enjoy doing is creating and being a part of very different characters and very different projects.
Pressure is something you feel when you do not know what you are doing.
I’d argue that everybody wants to do something that matters, and the fact that Linux has had a huge impact on the tech market and is used virtually everywhere is obviously very personally satisfying. I think programming is fun, and the community around the kernel is great, but a project has to be relevant too.
I have a strong sense that every project is an invention, which is not a word I hear being used in architecture courses
Never had I had so many friends and so much fun as I did in the projects.
I still love coming into work everyday after so many years working as an actress. I’ve been working more or less continuously and I find I have to really want to do the project to make it work because you have to put such an enormous amount of effort into it.
The more you focus on control, the more likely you’re working on a project that’s striving to deliver something of relatively minor value.
It is not the project but the living process that will be the measure of our actions.
I try not to think in terms of what poems or poets should do. Most of us appreciate a wide diversity in music, in cooking, in movies, but in our own medium, poetry, we often fail to make allowances for tastes and projects other than our own.
In 2008, we began an initiative to outsource projects from our Israeli office to three companies in the Palestinian Territories.
Id love to have another film to go on to. Im in the mood to work. But I have to be patient, you know, to find that particular kind of project. Occasionally Ill write one myself if I can summon up the energy.
There’s a certain time in the core of making a movie from pre-production to halfway through post-production I don’t read any project, my agent will tell people that “he’s not reading.” And then when I know how the movie’s probably gonna work halfway into post-production, I’ll come along.
To me, work is not a burden but my main hobby. This is why I always take work with me when I go on holidays. Moreover, that’s when new projects occur to me: while contemplating beautiful landscapes or seascapes.
I’m drawn to projects where I play these really complicated characters, but also where I can have some type of influence on affecting what we see as societal norms.
IBM is helping to greatly advance and expedite quality sampling while providing our project investigators peace of mind that the information they are gathering is securely stored and protected.
The band projects just took natural priority. I didn’t really have a solo career, just wanted to share the music in another way and to learn more about writing, recording, etcetera.
The revolution will survive. It does not rely solely on oil for its survival. There is a national will, there is a national idea, a national project.
It turns out that we determine who our leaders are by unconscious undertones we all project with our voices – and of which we’re completely unaware.
We make a contract within ourselves as actors or directors or writers about how much of ourselves we let into projects. You can actually figure out before you work on something how much blood you will have to let emotionally.
My work is heavily influenced by critiques that many critical intellectual traditions, especially Critical Race Theory, have made of reform projects focused on legal equality.
It’s so important to create roles and characters and projects that feature black people in a way that’s not specifically targeted towards the niche market, which is, like, a black movie is created, and it’s produced and pitched so that only black people will watch it.
As part of Depeche Mode, I don’t think it’s right for me to be using my own songs for a solo project. I’m not a very prolific songwriter, so I keep those for Depeche Mode.
For me, it’s always been very essential to work on projects that one can work on almost for their entire life.
All progress depends on the unreasonable man.
People offer me loads of stuff, and some of it I like, but I just can’t do it because I can’t write it all. So I might get in the position where I have some sort of company and just write maybe the first episode, but these are love projects, in a way.
I just want to keep doing good projects with good people.
For film, I think because it’s more detailed, and especially with historical material, you really have to find the right projects. Speaking as a mixed-race woman, there aren’t many historical stories about people like me. When people think of ‘dual heritage,’ they think it’s a modern concept, but really it’s not.
I was supremely fortunate to do several projects that I’m really excited about. So within all that, there’s a lot going on this year. I’m excited about 2016.
Legislators are interested in their pet projects, getting re-elected, and popularity contests.
Are we so desperate for entertainment that we will fall for a Trickless magician?? Saw a woman in half. Pull a rabbit out of a hat. Do something! What tricks does this guy have? “I’m in a box…and I ain’t gonna eat.”. “I’m in a box… and I ain’t gonna eat!!” That ain’t no trick! That’s called living in the projects!
I’ve seen a lot of friends who have a lot of great projects, whether it’s a script or a play or whatever, and it is a great project and they have great people involved, and they can’t make it.

Of course, it’s hard to support full-time programmers, so we do get funds from a set of companies that are interested in the health of the Mozilla project and so are willing to support the people working for the Foundation as well.
I project myself out through the glasses and across the street, a ghost in the morning sunlight, torn with disembodied lust.
The work is different in the sense that I haven’t had to travel round the world raising money, or work from the genesis of the project. But the collaboration feels clear always, it’s sort of my drug, I’m in it for the conversation. The conversation’s the most important part of it.
It’s not the style that motivates me, as much as an attitude of openness that I have when I go into a project.
I always try to take projects I’m genuinely interested and passionate about versus just trying to take projects for the money.
I have written things that Republicans and Democrats and all kinds of figures have either hated or felt very uncomfortable about. Because in doing these long projects and books, you get close to the bone. And they’re not calling me up and asking me for dinner.
‘The Client List’ is my baby. I always tell people, ‘It took nine months to put this project together because it is my baby.’ And, it really did take that long!
I have half a dozen designers who work for me, they ‘realise’ most of the design work, and I act as the design director and the main point of client contact on each project.
During the past two centuries, innovation has more than doubled our life span and given us cheap energy and more food. If we project what the world will be like 10 years from now without continuing innovation in health, energy or food, the picture is dark.
I undertake the same project as Montaigne, but with an aim contrary to his own: for he wrote his Essays only for others, and I write my reveries only for myself.
I’ve heard people say that ‘The Blair Witch Project’ is a feminist movie because there’s a woman in charge and I’ve heard it called a completely anti-feminist movie because this woman screws everything up. Who cares really? It’s just a movie.
I should like to enflame the whole world with my taste for gardening. There is no virtue that I would not attribute to the man who lives to project and execute gardens.
Of all the projects I’ve worked on, I’ve never worked with another director like Billy Friedkin. I think he’s a genius.
I think it is important to be present in the places where you are working. It is not only about doing a project, but following the project through its construction.
Most startups are not just built for the person who is using them. When you do that, every now and then you get really lucky and… are representative of some huge class of people who all want the same thing you do… but very often that just turns into a side project that doesn’t go anywhere.
I grew up playing with kids from Hurt Village, playing with kids from other housing projects, Lamar Terrace, because my grandmother lived in that particular area. So, I always wondered how I would have turned out if I would have lived in that particular given circumstance.
I have no idea. I get involved because I think there’s value in the project and because I love the character that is presented to me. I love the opportunity to examine a character, and to have him examine me, live inside me and move my hands. I love that. It’s irresistible. It’s a drug.
I’m for sure a workaholic. I’m a complete control freak and I take on way too many projects.

People just project their idea of my character on to me and they just seem to assume that I’m the same, when in reality I’m not.
They’re not gong to give Hateful Eight its credit now, they’ll give it its credit later. Hateful Eight was too long. I think we’ve indulged Quentin [Tarantino] so much with his monologues. Quentin has this very strong cult following around him and his projects, and people are always expecting so much from him.
I got the job [in Moana project] about six months before we started rehearsals. No, seven and a half months before we started at the Public, and so, it’s been my ocean of calm throughout the Hamilton phenomenon.
I’ve been saying for almost 20 years that I need to do a jazz project and it ought to be either big band or I should do some jazz songs with a trio or quartet.
The 20th Century was a bloodbath, and for all the frustrations and failures of the project to unify Europe, the last five decades have been periods of unprecedented peace, growth, and prosperity in Europe.
It hasn’t really made it easier getting film work. It’s not like I can call up a studio or a producer and say – insert haughty voice here – ‘It’s Parker. I guess you might know me as the indie queen. I’m wondering if you have any projects for me to be in.’
I grew up in the projects with four older brothers. And there were tough, macho gangsters, drug dealers, killers, and thugs all in my neighborhood. And they were afraid of my mother. So, yeah, I know some strong women.

My M.O. as far as choosing projects is I really try not to work. I try to not do the scripts that are offered me. I’m in this wonderful position to be able to do that.
In my district, the budget scales back and eliminates several long-term shore protection projects important to the safety and economic security of Long Island.
I was hired to do this one great script called ‘Cap’n Ricky’ and that project is up in the air at the moment.
We’ve run out of good projects. This is not a money issue… If these oil companies had fantastic projects, they’d be out there [developing new fields].
I love to get involved with projects that take me out of my comfort zone. I try to do things that are not necessarily what I’m used to. I always wanted to do a big animation movie and stick to the codes that this genre sometimes implies.
There are lots of good reasons to abandon a project. Having a little competition is not one of them.
We always project into the future or reflect in the past, but we are so little in the present.
I was very conceptual about what I was doing; I had the first five albums planned out, and all the songs on every album, and the artwork. I always had these ambitious musical projects in mind.
I’m a project-based photographer; I think in narrative terms, the way a writer thinks of a book, or a filmmaker a film.
We will also be funding projects that empower women and children in Afghanistan and now and then give scholarships to Afghan students here in the Bay Area.
I work on everything all at once, which is maybe the worst way to go about it. But I think that actually it works really well in terms of the serendipitous connections between all of these many different projects and these many different realms.
The local music community here was dying for a place to record, so we started doing acoustic, folk and bluegrass and then did rock projects for other bands, as well as for my son Tal and my own work.
Get an agent. Seriously, submitting stuff unagented means it will end up on the slush pile. An agent is the first quality filter, and a good agent is worth his or her weight in gold, as they’ll often know the editors on a personal level and will be able to talk to them directly about the project.
We are telling veterans they must sacrifice to pay for the pet projects and contracts to campaign donors of powerful members of Congress.

There’s a great place for good Christian children’s books. After the upcoming projects I’m working on, I’d like to turn my attention back to children’s books. Maybe with a granddaughter I’ll have more inspiration and new ideas.
If your project has real substance, ultimately the money will follow you like a common cur in the street with its tail between its legs.

Some documentaries are made by people who are driven more by one particular story, or have different backgrounds or ambitions, but I’m always looking for projects that let me be the best filmmaker I can be, and to be stretched and grow further.
I’m not someone who works a lot, and what I mean by that is that I have a project and I focus on it, and I don’t spread myself too thin. I try to give as much as I can to that project, and if we have a lot of time, that’s amazing for me, because I like to really dive deep and do as much as I can.

I suppose each project is a new thing, so there’s all this excitement and nerves about this new thing. Every single thing is like a new thing, so it’s never what I expect. I don’t know what to expect for the next thing. There are always different people. It’s interesting.
I like learning stuff. The more information you can get about a person or a subject, the more you can pour into a potential project. I made a decision to do different things. I want to do things that have a better chance of being thought of as original. I do everything I can to disrupt my comfort zone.
I like to work on a number of things simultaneously. If you’re working on a variety of projects and if you get stuck on one of them, you can move to another without grinding your gears indefinitely.
I was inspired by the Hole in the Wall project, where a computer with an internet connection was put in a Delhi slum. When the slum was revisited after a month, the children of that slum had learned how to use the worldwide web.
If you fall out of favor, you quickly stop being part of the conversation. But it can take one great project to turn things around. All you need is one hit or one great idea well-executed, and everybody’s talking about you again.
Every person who sees you physically evaluates you and projects energy towards you based upon the way you’ve dressed.
The common erotic project of destroying women makes it possible for men to unite into a brotherhood; this project is the only firm and trustworthy groundwork for cooperation among males and all male bonding is based on it.

When you start a new project, you wonder whether it’s the right choice.

It seems that film-makers are being divided between those working in digital and those who are not. I think it’s not something predetermined – it all depends on what project we have in mind, and on that basis we choose the medium.
Maimonides taught that it is better that 10 criminals go free than let one innocent man be executed. The Innocence Project represents that point of view.
Any project that I find encouraging that isn’t attached to a studio, I can go to them, which I definitely would. You have to take an interest in what you do.
Asian people have a unique way about them and a different sense of beauty. It’s exotic to me. I like they way Asians project their feelings. There’s a hardness to the culture, but at the same time there’s a delicateness.

I always gravitate towards the independent side of things, just because those are the stories I always fall in love with, but you don’t really get paid, and living in Los Angeles is expensive, and I have a mortgage to pay. So it’s good to jump onto a studio film and then in all my other time do small passion projects.
In Germany, you would be hanged if you cracked a joke about Hitler and you would be killed by the state if you were insane in a project of euthanasia.
The root of any film project for me is this inner need to express something. What nurtures this root and makes it grow into a tree is the script. What makes the tree bear flowers and fruit is the directing.

I would hate for someone to look at my shoe and say, ‘Oh my God! That looks so comfortable!’

Some of the best projects to ever come out of Atari or Chuck E. Cheese’s were from high school dropouts, college dropouts. One guy had been in jail.

As a director, I have to feel realism from actors, and they can’t be plastic. The words for me are secondary, but the chemistry between the actors is most important. However, you have to go by the script because it’s related to production, otherwise you will not finish your project.
I do not draw any of the pictures for my movies as an animator. The reason for that is that I am terribly lucky to have many staff members who I look up to, and who are overflowing with talent, that work with me on each project.
I grew up in Harlem Grant projects, and I didn’t have a whole lot then. I’ve always been good about only getting what I need, not what I want. Just because someone else has something, I don’t feel the need to.

I’ve always juggled a lot of projects because at least half the projects you do get shelved. So you have to do a lot of things in order for things to move forward.
When Libya was in turmoil in 2011, the Chinese public was surprised to discover that more than thirty thousand of their countrymen were living there, most of them working on Chinese-run oil projects.
When you smile and project an aura of warmth, kindness, and friendliness, you will attract warms, kindness, and friendliness. Happy people will be drawn to you.
We are trained to analyze problems and create solutions. We forget that marriage is a relationship, not a project to be completed or a problem to solve.
Marriage is a difficult project. When seven years have passed and all your body’s cells have been replaced, you’re meant to experience that seven-year itch.
Whenever you do an animated project or a voice-over project it’s inevitable that part of your personality comes into play.
Authors like reading. Go figure. So it’s not surprising that we sometimes bog down in the research stage of new writing projects.
My end goal is just to do projects at the end of the day that I’m proud of.
Every new development, highway, railroad, steamship line, building operation, whether it be a drainage project in old Greece or a new water system in Peru, means an added use of the automobile.
Ultimately it’s the public nature of those projects that I most enjoy. Museums are more than just places to view art, they’re also civic and social centers.
I felt for a long time that this is what I want to do so I’m happy at this point to just take my time and work on projects that I feel strongly about, and the rest of the time just live my life
Karma simply means that whatever type of energy you project, or you allow to pass through your being, you will become for a period of time.
Certainly I get a lot personally out of it as well, there’s the recognition and things like that but mostly I try to take that as an opportunity to explain why I hope we could see more projects like Apache out there and why it’s a good thing for society.
With each project, I’m going for something that makes viewers think, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen a film like this before,’ and later think, ‘Wow, I’ve only seen a film like this once before. I saw it in theaters and am watching it now on Netflix or a similar streaming service.’
Climbing, for me, is all about solving the magnitude of the problem. The best projects are the ones with big question marks hanging over them.
Human beings are co-partners with deity in the project of being. This is the basis of all magic.
There were open source projects and free software before Linux was there. Linux in many ways is one of the more visible and one of the bigger technical projects in this area, and it changed how people looked at it because Linux took both the practical and ideological approach.
I don’t make a habit of watching my parents’ films, because it is a little strange. But I will say that I binge watch ‘House of Cards’ compulsively, and I think it’s the first time I’ve ever seen one of my mom’s projects and totally forgot she was my mom!
I project that this next election – the 2016 election – if it is about anything thematically, it is going to be about that sense of rage and displacement among white working-class voters.
Never treat somebody’s cleverness as his life’s smartness. Cleverness is to hide the weakness and the smartness is to project the strength of his weakness.
To be honest, we donate to projects that we think are meaningful. How society views it or how we are viewed by history, well, we’ll let them decide. How others view us is out of our control.
Retire from your job but never from meaningful projects. If you want to live a long life, you need eustress, that is, a deep sense of meaning and of contribution to worthy projects and causes, particularly, your intergenerational family.
My temperament is not the adventuresome sort that enjoys starting new projects every six months. I love ensemble, nine-to-five stability. There’s a family dynamic in making a television show that you don’t get on a movie, where you’re a hired gun for a few months.
What gets projects done for me is not inspiration. It’s curiosity and rigor.
On the flip side, no one has any idea who the hell I am. I felt like I had to prove myself to them. On any new project I’m working on, the first week is nerve-wracking, but especially with these people that I admire so much and who I just want to be equal with.
To people in my industry I’m usually a guy that tries to generate his own projects and I remain very elusive when people try and attach me to big projects.
A great trick that I learned having worked as a screenwriter for many years, the way screenwriters work, is they break the project down into three-act structure: Act 1, Act 2, Act 3. I think that is a great way to break down any project, whether it’s a new business or anything at all.
Television and film acting is really fun because you are working with other people and you are not completely responsible for the outcome of the project.
My brain is a big cluster of stuff. It moves quickly and loses focus quickly, so I need many projects to keep me stimulated – it’s a luxury to be able to do lots of different things: style, write, present, DJ or just consult. It can’t be any other way; I think I would shrivel up and fall asleep forever.
However depressed I may be I am not in the habit of giving up a project without having tried everything, even the ‘impossible’, to gain my end.
Listening is active. It’s like vision. It’s like the idea of the eye projecting light, which I’ve heard is what children and infants say when they’re asked to explain vision – that the eye projects light, rather than just receives it.
After my first visit to Japan, in 1960, to work on a joint model building project at Osaka University, I maintained a continuing interest in the country and the entire Far East.
I have no idea what the next project will be and if there’s a next project. I don’t even know if we’re all going to be here tomorrow, but I’m pretty optimistic.
Men, through the ideas they have, project a field of attention that limits women.
I feel like because I’ve done more gay characters, gay scenes, or gay projects than most straight actors, people see it as some sort of mission. It’s more of a case-by-case basis, and just trying to capture figures that I love. I guess that a lot of the figures that I love were gay.
The instruments, glassware, and chemical reagents necessary for my project were the same as my 19th-century predecessors had.
Juggling many projects and having all these accidental collisions that you can’t predict enables a kind of comparative thinking. To focus on a single project from beginning to end is extremely difficult, not just for me, but for many people.
NATO has a special relationship with countries far away from Europe: Australia, Japan, South Korea. They have joint projects and programmes which are being implemented without these countries becoming members of NATO.
For minority actors, developing our own projects has to be the eventual path. We have a lot of stories to tell and a really unique voice. But none of that is going to be heard as long as we’re just the hired hands, acting.
Globally, the highest number of irrigation projects are in India, and within the country, the highest number is in Maharashtra.
Every book is a new journey. I never felt I was an expert on a subject as I embarked on a project.
The chances of running out of yarn on a project are directly related to the difficulty that you will have getting more.
Foreign aid projects have pumped billions of dollars into the Afghan economy.
In Japan, I have my own line of dinnerware, but I’m not aggressive about pursuing those projects.
Every project is different. When I’m working on my albums, I’ve worked with different producers and they’ve all had different personalities. The recording studio sets the vibe, and that changes as well.
It is important to consider whether the sample size selected by the Environmental Genome Project will provide sufficient power to discover most alleles relevant to gene-environment interactions.
I experienced how foreign aid for large-scale vaccination projects helps to save the life of children and thus give a real input to growth and to escaping poverty.
I already have a production company called J Squared and we’re working on two projects.
Being consistent is way less interesting than being yourself. And if you’re not interesting? Good luck with your Big Consistency Project.
When government ‘creates jobs’ by taking money from the private sector and ‘investing’ in favored projects, it is not truly productive activity. Rather, the government has preempted the economic process, forbidding it to serve consumers so that it can instead serve the objectives of politicians and bureaucrats.
I would like to see policy makers and international donor agencies realize that it is not enough to give money for demonstration projects. From the very beginning plans should be made for the scaling-up of successful innovations.
What we want… is for students to get more interested in things, more involved in them, more engaged in wanting to know; to have projects that they can get excited about and work on over long periods of time, to be stimulated to find things out on their own.
We believe that the future for content-creators such as ourselves lies in being able to source project money from an audience and deliver on those projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
If we are in earnest about giving the Union energy and duration we must abandon the vain project of legislating upon the States in their collective capacities.
As movies and TV projects come up, they go out to the agents and we just go out and audition for them.
Developing projects of my own and producing and writing and directing is something that’s very interesting to me, but you know, one step at a time and you’ve got to establish yourself on one side before you really have the power to do something else. That’s always the immediate goal.
Netflix has such a knack for giving a new life to those B-movies that you thought and hoped no one would ever see. Especially when you have a new project coming out and they’re looking to mine some of your lesser-known films.
For most of the projects I’ve worked on, I’ve been entrusted with some degree of musical responsibility, even if it’s just like coaching for vocals and stuff.
Cosmic reveries separate us from project reveries. They situate us in a world and not in a society. The cosmic reverie possesses a sort of stability or tranquility. It helps us escape time. It is a state.
I have found, unfortunately, that if I take on too many projects at one time, there is a higher probability of those projects sucking.
Many men have deep rooted problems regarding the status of women, and during sex these problems come out. They consciously or unconsciously project anger and hate towards women they have sex with. This energy enters a woman’s subtle physical body and damages it.
Success is a project that’s always under construction.
In the film business, when you’re young, you just want to work. But when you’re older, it has more to do with who’s involved with the project – who you’re going to get in the boat with.
I had a conversation with Nick Barrucci, and he said he thought I’d be a good fit for this project. It was just that simple! Once I learned what Kurt Busiek, Alex Ross, and Jack Herbert were doing for Kirby: Genesis, though, I was even more on board.
Abandoning the project was incredibly stressful after having gone through the process of building the room, installing the kiln, collecting the stones, sitting with the kiln day and night as it came to temperature, experiencing the failures.
What saved the economy, and the New Deal, was the enormous public works project known as World War II, which finally provided a fiscal stimulus adequate to the economy’s needs.
I worked on human rights projects in Haiti, Cameroon, and East Asia, and the bigger ones tended to do with agriculture. My role was to make sure that there was equity that remained at the base of those projects, with the workers. I had a couple of different lives.
I think always what happens when you ask men questions on the red carpet, it’s always based on what projects they’re working on, whatever they’re about, rather than this, ‘Give us little tips for all of us women’… because we’re all the same. Questions should just be more individual.
Architects often have a mindset where you solve a problem, so you have a set of needs that you have to address. Often I feel that my projects have to have concrete applications.
Even though the industry is very big and there’s lots of money, when it gets down to it, whether it’s a photographer or a designer, as well as a stylist or makeup artist, you’re really only working with maybe four or five people on a project. It’s all quite small and intimate.
I like all my work equally. I look at the projects as children. I look at the experience more than the end result.
I am such a pessimist that every project has surpassed what I envisioned.
We all find ourselves involved in projects or activities that confound us-when or why did I say I would do this? What was I thinking? I needed a poem for myself that said-pause longer. Think again.
I think about all these influences and musical cultures, then the opinion of the audience is of course important, but when I’m working on an album or a new project, I’m not all the time thinking about what the audience will think about it.
Freedom Summer, the massive voter education project in Mississippi, was 1964. I graduated from high school in 1965. So becoming active was almost a rite of passage.
A writer’s problem does not change. He himself changes and the world he lives in changes but his problem remains the same. It is always how to write truly and having found what is true, to project it is such a way that it becomes a part of the experience of the person who reads it.
There are hundreds, even thousands of remarkable pilot or experimental projects in all fields – in agriculture, health, education. But where do these pilots take us? Do they lead to change on a broader scale? If not, how can we ensure that they have broader impact?
Today, our sexuality is an open-ended personal project; it is part of who we are, an identity, and no longer merely something we do.
You’ve no future unless you add value, create projects.
I used to read a lot about myself and the projects I was doing. When I was only acting, I wouldn’t read any reviews because I didn’t find them to be very helpful.
The fact that a thirteen-year-old project still resonates and can still have a large exhibit with lots of newspaper, magazine and TV press shows the timelessness of the project.
NEPA’s common sense approach to foster discussion and collaboration about major development projects has worked well to protect our national treasures and resources.
I like to do projects that challenge me, and hopefully in turn challenge the audience, or open your eyes to something you’re not aware of.
Slow down and make building relationships as important as building projects.
I just like to choose projects that will allow me as an artist to make my art.
My days are kind of controlled by my projects, so sometimes they’re album covers. Sometimes they’re commission portrait shoots. Sometimes they are editorial, so it kind of – I don’t dictate it.
I really have no preference between TV and film. I think that each individual project is its own thing and has a very different style.
If you believe in the project, you have to support it.
Never would I have thought that I would meet Mick Jagger, much less be working on the same project.
I was just a kid selling monster stories to the kids in the projects, complete with a dramatic reading, making the werewolf sounds. My career was aborted early on because one of my main customers started to have nightmares and his mother came to my mother and my mother shut down my whole business.
I’m fascinated with genetic science, and I have been for a very long time. I always look at science and technology because I think that the developments in my lifetime have been so remarkable – and we’re only at the tip of the iceberg with projects like decoding the human genome.
There’s competition in every field, and that’s healthy. It makes you work harder and be your best. Competition, not in terms of money or number of projects, but in the quality of your work, is very healthy.
There are a couple of projects that are sort of on the plate; I haven’t closed any of them yet. I’m trying to figure out which one is going to be the best one for me.
I’m excited that I get to do what I love, and I’m benefiting through projects that speak to me.

I’m always trying to find something unique or a project that I can do something unique in.
The overall view of the human genome project has been one of great excitement and positive press, but there are people who have concerns that are quite reasonable, and they are frightened of things they don’t understand.
Many of the projects I’m most proud of are tall buildings, especially the housing projects. In New York I have two: one in Kips Bay and one at New York University. At that time, those projects were most challenging.
I think change needs to be egoless. It’s not about my leaving my fingerprints or a legacy. It’s more important to be part of a process by rolling up your sleeves, being on the ground, initiating projects, starting campaigns – you know, building stuff.
Project your mind into your subject until you actually live in it.
I went from the projects to a real house. It was a big difference.

South Australia has transformed. There has been a range of changes to our economy over the past 10 years in which we have genuinely set ourselves up for the future. I think we have to start behaving like that’s real and project a quiet confidence in the future of our state.
Although I am a young leader, I actually came to it strangely quite late. I have a different perspective, partly because of my family, partly because of what I did for ten years: negotiating trade deals, working out in Central Asia doing assistance projects.
I know now that I want to do more voice-over projects. They really have the ability to transport you into the world of whatever movie it is you are working on.
If you don’t have a brilliant screenplay, then you either have amazing actors who give you the chance to improve whatever is on the page, or an interesting director who has enough faith in the project that they can carry it through and get it somewhere. One of those factors needs to happen. If not, it’s sad.
I’m sort of suspicious of most economic development projects, but the ones that encourage taxpayer-funded relocation bidding wars should be declared unconstitutional.
It would have been possible to structure my photographs in such a way that no indicators of the present were discernible. However, I wanted to incorporate into the project as a whole the jostling of time-frames I would feel as I set up my tripod on various rocky promontories.
I like a lot of different kinds of music. I like strong projects, big music.
After 4 years on NYPD Blue it has been nice to have the summer off and spend time with family and friends. There are a few projects I am interested in and plan to be working this fall.
I feel guilty if I’m not reading books, but I read scripts of movies or things that I know I’m committed to that I’m going to do the project. I tell myself, “I’m going to read this script like six times,” and I only read it the initial time.
Whether we like to admit it or not, as artists, we do project our own worldview on to what we do.
Well it kind of is project to project because as a writer I think you always write to some degree about things that you know or things that happened – but my favourite filmmakers, my favourite movies of theirs tend to be the personal movies.
I’m kind of balanced between excited about the potential of the project, and the knowledge that I shouldn’t get my hopes up. I like to be practical, and the truth is, these deals fall apart all the time.
If you look at the history of communication, new technologies like the phone and e-mail didnt just let people do things faster; it fundamentally changed the scope of the kinds of projects people dared to take on.
Capitalism is a wonderful economic engine, but it assigns little value to long-term projects or societal problems.

Staying focused on a project or plan is one of the most difficult challenges we face. There is always the house to clean, calls to make, laundry to fold, deadlines to meet. Actually, there is only one thing that keeps us from our goals – lack of focus. And very often, lack of focus is caused by fear.
If we are hungry enough for God, we will find a way into His presence. We should be so hungry for the presence of God that we absolutely will not go out of our house or tackle any kind of project until we have spent some time with Him.
Everybody has a down day, no one’s perfect; no one’s having the most idyllic life. I mean, I guess everybody wants to project positivity to the outside world, but if we’re honest, no one’s going to have 24/7 bliss.
We think about project’s public nature and how that can be enhanced, how the spaces we create can enliven the experience of being there.
I had worked so hard on three projects 1997 that it knocked the gas out of me. It was a mystery to the medical profession, but you can test positive for Epstein-Barr and not have it. When you get a post-viral syndrome, for some people it causes chronic fatigue or hearing loss. For me it became light sensitivity.
I think IT projects are about supporting social systems – about communications between people and machines. They tend to fail due to cultural issues.
If I were to say that I grew up in East Los Angeles in the projects poor, I assumed that everybody understood that it came with its own reasons for being the way I am. I didn’t get that people needed to understand where my comedy came from; I thought that they knew that. Now I tell people.
How hard it is to project oneself into the future. We are always prone to think of the conditions which are with us today as being permanent conditions.
Studios are an assembly line. They can be a very good assembly line. As a producer, you concentrate on one project at a time. As an executive, you’re in charge of a slate.
Without dreams we would be cows in a field, and I don’t want to live like that. I live my life or I end my life with this project.
And what I liked the most about any project was that when it was good, you had a bunch of people trying to accomplish something together who were all acting together as one – that’s the most exciting time for me.
The genres are widening. I don’t think that there’s as many limitations on the kinds of projects that actors can do as there once was.
I think I’m built like a painter. I have friends who are painters and they reflect a similar psychological attitude towards their work. They don’t know what’s coming next, they just wait for the message, for orders to come and then off they go on their next project.
It doesn’t matter to me if it has a surprise ending or not. I usually go for the material or the project.
Success is completion. Success is being able to complete what we set out to do – each individual action, each specific step, each desired experience whether a big project or a very small errand.
My mistake was to project my skill beyond the limits of experience. I began investing outside the industries which I believe I thoroughly understood, in completely different spheres of activity; situations where I did not have comparable background knowledge.
I’m living in the moment. I just try to move each of the stories, scripts and projects that I work on forward. And when they’re ready and the people are ready to make them, we’ll do that.
When you have these surprise breakout films that do well, that have good performances in them, it puts a lot of pressure on the Academy to recognize those projects, so it’s more of a conversation about what is greenlit.
I need to start honing in on projects that I want to devote my time to and not put my energies into the unattainable ones.
My instinct is to keep people guessing. I think as an actor your greatest strength is your versatility, I suppose. The blanker the canvas, the easier it is to project the illusion of a character onto it. I think there are many actors who do that very successfully.
The director, MoisГ©s Kaufman, just received the national medal of the arts from President [Barack] Obama . He wrote and directed The Laramie Project and he has directed several Pulitzer prize-winning plays. He’s a pretty profound director in the theater.

Most actors have a process that they can go through, that they rely on, or that they’ve discovered, and that can evolve from project to project.
My favorite TV show of all time is ‘The Wire,’ which has the feeling of a project-based show. You draw in people from disparate parts of the world, and they have to work together to achieve a goal.
I actually like snakes! When I was young, I was a boy scout nature camp counselor, and one of our projects was collecting snakes and creating an environment for them, so I’m quite familiar with snakes and think they’re fantastic creatures.
With every project, you feel like you’re trying to find your place to vent. For any actor, that’s typically the feeling that drives you to do it.
I would only take a role that I know I’m comfortable in and I can do. I’ve turned down plenty of things because I’d feel it’s not me, and I wouldn’t want to come on someone’s project and flip that.
I see myself working, making a living and doing projects that I’m passionate about, regardless of the medium.

Now, to describe the process of the Wrapped Reichstag, which went from 1971 to ’95, there is an entire book about that, because each one of our projects has its own book. The book is not an art book, meaning it’s not written by an art historian.
When I started writing the script I thought that maybe someone else would direct it, but then I started to fall for it so much that I left the other project and I put all my time on The German Doctor.

In so far as the culture industry arouses a feeling of well-being that the world is precisely in that order suggested by the culture industry, the substitute gratification which it prepares for human beings cheats them out of the same happiness which it deceitfully projects.
Whenever I audition for something, if I get excited about the project I’m totally committed to it from that point on. But it can also be a long process, so when I eventually get given the part it’s then that I realise that I’ve actually got to do it and here comes the work!
Every time you start a project, you’re hopeful that the critics receive it warmly.

Recent demonstration projects have shown that with some Federal support, a little funding can go a long way toward ensuring that low-income children have access to good oral health care.
I want to pay my mortgage and go on vacation, so I love working. I want to be able to do independent projects as well, and being on a successful TV show allows you to do some other things.
I’m always reading. Here’s where an ebook reader really comes into its own. When I travel, it allows me to carry a huge chunk of my library with me. Usually, when I am writing one project, I am researching the next or beginning to pull together the material for the book after that.
All white-collar work is project work. The single salient fact that touches all of our lives is that work is being reinvented.

Society needs people who can manage projects in addition to handling individual tasks.
The whole point of ‘Acid Rap’ was just to ask people a question: does the music business side of this dictate what type of project this is? If it’s all original music and it’s got this much emotion around it and it connects this way with this many people, is it a mixtape? What’s an ‘album’ these days, anyways?
The person must be blind, indeed, who can not see, that here on earth a great project, a great plan, is executed, may work on the realization of which we participate as faithful servants.
People actually ask me why I bring in projects on budget and on time. It seems I am not living up to the fashionable genius role. I really enjoy when a project gets down to the wire, and through sheer force of will and faith in our process, we cross the goal line, when most people thought it impossible.
Maybe [success] is because I’m in China and I’m more open. Maybe it’s my independent behavior, or because I participated in certain projects. I have no idea.
Fast drivers can see no further than slow drivers, but they must look further down the road to time their reactions safely. Similarly, people with great projects afoot habitually look further and more clearly into the future than people who are mired in day-to-day concerns.
When I was living in the projects, I had a mop stick for my horse. I wanted to be Gene Autry or Roy Rogers, so I would ride my mop through the projects.
In today’s gig economy, where jobs have been replaced by ‘portfolios of projects,’ most people find themselves doing more things less well for two-thirds of the money.
Probably some of the projects I chose to do after that had more to do with what people thought of me. The industry was very open and probably hoping that I could do anything.
You work hard and you pray, and you do something where you know the energy around the project is right, but you never really know if it’s going to hit and resonate with audiences.
Every relationship should eventually become a long-term relationship. Any director that I meet now isn’t just a director. He’s potentially a friend, and someone I can call to do a project that I want or that I have. That’s what I mean when I say branding and developing yourself, as a business.
In an effort to devote more time, energy and focus to fewer projects, I’ve had to make some tough decisions, and one such decision was ‘retiring’ from ‘Speakeasy.’

They’re reacting and that’s wonderful. It’s better than them sitting there doing nothing. I say make them react – do whatever’s in your power to move the audience, and if that’s where it is, and there where it is with America, sex and violence, then I say project it.
Fear of failure held me back from being a DIYer for many years, especially after a few early attempts at home improvement projects went awry.

When good things come in, my agent calls or sends me the script. You can never really tell, it’s kind of a red herring until you see the project I think. You just know if you like working with someone or not, and he does have a real sweetness about him, I think.
Great projects, like great careers and relationships that last, are gardens. They are tended, they shift, they grow. They endure over time, gaining a personality and reflecting their environment. When something dies or fades away, we prune, replant and grow again.
I don’t want to look back at my career and see a string of incredibly commercial projects that don’t have much heart. I’m looking for things that have soul.
I believe that there are many interesting projects that are potentially possible for me other than game music, and therefore in my mind there are several things that are being contemplated.
When I connect to my soul, project it into another #‎ character , and then bring it to the stage or to a film–that has always been for me the great joy of #‎ acting . It’s been as if my soul kind of leaps out of my body and is able to be free and dance around.

Just, as I have traveled around from school to school, whether it’s project-based learning or an outward bound curriculum, it’s very hard to tell the difference between charters and public anymore. There’s no fine line.

I guess what I get excited about when I’m thinking about projects is that toothy, complex area of goodness and badness and the gray areas of human behavior and existence.

Generally, Hollywood makes the same stories over and over. I’ve never wanted to do the same thing twice. If a script doesn’t surprise me in some way, I simply can’t commit to the project.
I’m not sure I’ll find acting satisfying creatively forever. If you get the good roles, it’s great – if you have the freedom to choose your projects and not just do anything and everything.
I’m a project guy, but when my list of things to do gets too long or involved, it can stress me out to the point of catatonia. So I focus on the small stuff first and keep the larger picture as motivation – but not so close that it overwhelms.
My husband has no desire to work with me. He gets paid a lot of money to write giant movies. He’s not into humoring me with my projects.
For the last 30 years our cinemas have been ruled by science fiction and horror. We’ve had some very good Fantasy films in that time period, but for my tastes I still haven’t seen fantasy done to absolute perfection. That is the hope I have in this project.
I think that because I’m overweight, [my] fantasy was lightness. So I project my fantasy to the clothes, and now all I do is light, light clothes because it’s the one thing I don’t have. That is why I’m too afraid to lose weight because then I might make heavy clothes.

I don’t want euro bonds that serve to mutualize the entire debt of the countries in the euro zone. That can only work in the longer-term. I want euro bonds to be used to finance targeted investments in future-oriented growth projects. It isn’t the same thing. Let’s call them ‘project bonds’ instead of euro bonds.

I’d love to act more. I’ve had to turn down multiple movies because I was on tour, but it’s encouraging to know that someday there might be the right role, the right timing.
