I think it’s one thing to be part of a very important group called the Senate of the United States and cast a vote. You’re one of 100. I think it says even more to be a governor, where you ultimately have that political responsibility and accountability to succeed.
If we take into account that women have had the right to vote only for some 100 years – in some countries even less – and that we have already won seats in governments or presidential offices, I understand that men look at this rise with some anxiety.
Just as everybody has the vote including women, I think children should, because as a child is conscious of itself then it has to me an existence and has a stake in what happens.
I vote because it’s what small-d democracy is about. Because there are places where people fight for generations and stand for hours to cast a ballot knowing what we ought to remember: that it makes a difference. Not always a big difference. Not always an immediate difference. But a difference.
There isn’t any finer folks living than a Republican that votes the Democratic ticket.
Harry Reid employed the so-called nuclear option, broke the Senate rules to change the Senate rules, lowered the threshold for confirmation from 60 votes to 51 votes. And it is a direct result of Harry Reid that we now have the most conservative Cabinet in decades.

The future lies with those wise political leaders who realize that the great public is interested more in Government than in politics.
